ZOMETA, AREDIA, FOSAMAX, ACTONEL

 

 

These drugs, all bisophonates, have recently been linked to a disfiguring and dehabilitating disease called Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (also known as “ONJ”, “Dead Jaw”, BisPhossy Jaw, “Jaw Necrosis”.)

 

Zometa and Aredia have been prescribed to cancer patients to help prevent bone fractures and build bone mass.

Fosamax and Actonel have been prescribed to prevent and treat bone loss in postmenopausal osteoporosis and steroid-induced osteoporosis. Fosamax is also used to treat Pagets disease of bone.

 

The Law office of Michael E. Seelie was one of the first to file several lawsuits against the manufacturer of Zometa and Aredia. These cases have now been joined together in a multi-district litigation for purposes of discovery.
